Global chivalric orders

With yesterdays opening court sessions in Norway about the bombing of a government building and the firearms shooting of 77 people, the defendant claimed that he was a 'Knight Templar' killing those who advocate multiculturism ( a young Labour Party of Norway rally camp). To which end prior to said incidwent he worte a manifesto / thesis about his views about the state of his country in which he wanted it rechristianised and made more catholic.

Firstly Scandinavian faith and related social groups may be different from teh UK, Ireland and commonwealth, but the first two are also under European Free Trade and Convention on Human Rights (the one that predates teh treaty of Rome and teh founding of the European Union, of which Norway is not a part. In said manifesto he adocated a rechristianising of Norway on Catholic lines. It is ironic but he himself may therefore be a minority within his own country.

Secondly, coukld such an event happen within teh United Kingdom? Aside from Islamic and EDL counter rallies against each otgher which are by and large policed even handely under the EU conventions and human rights, the constituent parts of teh United Kingdom have anti sectarian and 'Equal Opps' laws, namely the 1999 Human Rights Act and similar measures pased at Cardiff Bay, Holyrood and stormomt.

Also although after crusades in teh middle ages, the KT in the west were for a time banned by the papacy unitl the counter reformation and as a response to the inquisition. Within the UK they have a website expressing a desire for charitable giving towards christian ends and in comemoration of their founders. One church which they revere as a success from before their closure by the papcay is All Hallows by the Tower which was converted fromk a pagan military temple into a church when Roman britain converted to christianity, with some placing this as one reason why and some say in response to the conversion of The Emperor Constantine.

Other orders are
The Knght Hospitalier and the Order of St John
The United Grand Lodge of England (Scotland and Ireland have their own)

and these were developed from the union of crowns of England and Scotland, seeking to aid peace and toleration (albeit from the opposite viewpoint of Protestant theology). They too work for their communities and in teh UK there are also the Lions, Rotary and Round Table.

Their ethos has been developed into interfaith international aid agencies such as the Disaster Emergency Ctte and the International Red Cross and Crescent and Diamond which seek to aid the casualtioes of war and bring humanitarian aid in.

As such the Islamic world should listen to teh trial and not rush jo judgement on th trials first day.
